近年來，台灣隨著環境的變遷，產業型態的轉變，出生率下降，人口老化不在話下，左鎮地區人口死亡率已經高過人口出生率，對此藉由深入地方產業及特色，並探討新興觀光景點帶來正負面的問題加以研究分析。本研究採取深入化石園區及當地住民實施半結構式訪談，藉由當地耆老及化石園區的意見將產業轉型或是創新提出方案利用當地分布最廣的泥岩地形、海拔最低的二寮日出、歷史最悠久的化石考古及比例最高的平埔西拉雅族進行研究分析。研究結果發現在地發展觀光的機會與限制、人口老化、人力缺乏的困境，以及地方高齡健康照顧與企業合作發展的可行性，惡地形農產少量多樣的特色暨產銷議題，政府若能儘快解編水資源保護區的開發限制，協助地方行銷農產
