台灣人口密度高且地質活動頻繁,兩項因素為評估適宜台灣的地震災害模型重要參數,在災害性地震事件中降低風險是台灣人民保護自身財產安全最重要的課題。本研究藉由限制非餘震序列下地震事件的規模、位置,篩選出地震對,其特性為具有相似規模且相近距離的獨立地震事件群,憑此特性剖析台灣發震區域特徵,並利用此要素建造符合災害風險的建築及制定適宜法規。本研究使用中央氣象局地震觀測網( Central Weather Bureau Seismic Network, CWBSN ) 1994 年1 月1 日至2017 年8 月的全台地震目錄且利用時間與空間特性剔除餘震後篩選出地震對,條件為目錄內獨立地震事件且符合(1
)芮氏規模相差0.15 內、(2)震源間距相差 2√2 公里、(3)發震時間間隔 365 天以上,一次地震事件往往會配對到多個地震對而組成相似地震群,並結合前人速度構造與東部重複地震目錄分析相似地震群其發震區域分布及特性。資料分析結果顯示相似地震群內含有15 個以上地震對時,可從地震目錄中挑選出50354 筆符合地震對條件的地震事件,判釋出其特性如下:主要規模集中於芮氏規模2.8 以內其中以最小完整規模至芮氏規模2.4 為最多事件的區間;深度集中於30 公里以內並在10 公里與20 公里出現事件數的峰值,另外時間間隔主要分布於1 年至10 年區間。依據上述結果發現限制地震事件規模及震源間距並篩
選出符合條件且相似地震群內含15 個以上地震對時,相似地震群分布的位置主要可分成花東地區、中央山脈南段與潮州斷層區域及觸口斷層區域,且在這些區域均有著穩定大地構造提供錯動能量,致使於地震目錄中發現接連發生的相似規模、距離的地震事件。綜合上述研究結果繪製剖面且結合前人速度構造模型及重複地震地震目錄分析,相似地震群對多落在Vp/Vs 比值約為1.73 的等值線附近或是較低Vp/Vs 區域,表示地震群多受地下構造破裂密度及流體等因素影響產生的地震事件,另外加入東部重複地震目錄與相似地震群比較,相比於重複地震對於地震事件波形、規模、震源機制解等等參數去挑選,發現相似地震群因為僅限制規模、距離及時間間隔
下,依然可在東部常見的孕震區域中發現,代表相似地震群可以用較簡單的限制去尋找可能的孕震區域,並於未來工作中可作為一項參數輔助台灣地震災害模型保障人民財產安全。

台灣東部於1972年4月22日發生地震矩規模(Mw) 6.7之瑞穗地震。過去研究發現1972年瑞穗地震主震之震源機制解為逆衝斷層帶走滑分量,且主震與餘震序列位於1951年10月花蓮縱谷地震群以南、11月縱谷地震序列以北,顯示該地震發震斷層與花東縱谷北段的活動構造有關。為了解1972年瑞穗地震與花東縱谷北段活動構造之關係,與花東縱谷北段海岸山脈側的活動構造特性,本研究使用在1972年瑞穗地震前、後之歷史航照影像,以運動回復結構(SfM)及多視立體(MVS)之方法建置該地區的歷史數值地表模型(DSM)與正射影像,透過構造地形判釋與次像素關聯分析,以及歷史文獻收集及實地訪談方式,試圖了解該區域之活
動斷層特性與1972年地震可能伴隨的同震地表破裂。本研究透過1972年地震災害報導,以及本研究現地訪談所得的主震地震震度分布圖,發現該地震震度分布與花東縱谷中段與北段之活動構造位置相符。本研究亦透過歷史數值地表模型分析發現,在花東縱谷北段-光復鄉至壽豐鄉一帶總長約24公里的海岸山脈西翼,存在連續分布之斷層跡與相關活動構造地形。然而沿著斷層跡之口述歷史與地震前後的次像素關聯位移分布皆未發現明顯可見的地震地表破裂,暗示1972年瑞穗地震可能並未伴隨明顯的地表斷層破裂。該段活斷層跡沿線可見斷錯沖積扇、閉塞丘、斷層谷、斷錯河等多樣的左移活斷層地貌,顯示海岸山脈西側近地表處的活動構造強烈受到走向滑移錯動
控制,另有發現開花構造與右階斷層之現象。本研究推測這些活動構造是由斜碰撞構造環境下形成,且屬於較年輕的斷層系統。綜上所述,本研究認為1972年瑞穗地震在花東縱谷北段沒有伴隨明顯可見的同震地表破裂,地表所見之左移活動構造應為早於1951年的同震斷層錯動所造成的結果。
